The Barn Owl Lady

Greetings!

Welcome to our blog regarding The Barn Owl Lady.

The Barn Owl Lady is a documentary that my production company is currently working on. Many people don't realize that there is actually an industry for Barn Owl Pellets. This career is not easy to come by and in most States, you have to have a license to even go near the owls since they're threatened. This occupation is far from easy but to some, the benefits far out way the risks and the hassle put into it.
Although a specimen collector puts a lot of time and effort into gathering these specimens, they sometimes put their safety, and even their life at risk.

I thought this was an interesting subject especially after seeing the Discovery Channel's Dirty Jobs episode about an "Owl Vomit Collector."

My Mother-In-Law has done this for a living for more than thirteen years and I thought I'd make a documentary about it.
This blog is going to serve as a record of our progress during the production of the film as well as an introduction to the cast and crew. Subscribe for updates and thank you for visiting.
